In October Peter gave a demonstration of loose watercolour painting


Members were treated to an evening with Jean Pritchard when she demonstrated her method of producing stunning oil paintings of wildlife. She discussed the preparation of the her canvas, choice of brushes including some novel additions in her own collection. Also, the choice of colours, mixing and thinning of oil paints to obtain the best results.

Friday 12th April 2019
Paul Talbot-Greaves gave us a very interesting step-by -step watercolour demonstration using wet into wet and dry brush techniques from an array of overhead camera equipment.


Friday 15th March
Artist Marianne Birkby demonstrated a
Wildlife painting water-based/mixed media using graphic pens and ‘inktense’ pastels on a pre-prepared board.

Friday the 8th February
Greg Howard produced this stunning pastel ‘stormy beach scene’ in just under two hours in a ‘chalk and talk session’
He gave advice on the type of paper and pastels he uses
and the techniques involved.

January 18th Peter Lazell gave his third session on ‘Girl with the Pearl earring’. Peter finished his demonstration piece of Dutch artist
Johannes Vermeer’s famous masterpiece. He covered techniques and palette used in the 1665 work to great effect.
